Prairie Heights is 2-8 against Angola since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Panthers will host the Hornets at 5:00 p.m.
Prairie Heights is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since May 17, 2025 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Churubusco by a score of 3-1.
Allie Hardy put in work no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
Hardy wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Addison Taylor, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Angola). Everything went their way against West Noble on Thursday as they made off with a 22-6 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hornets as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.
Like Prairie Heights, Angola also got a great game from a two-way player: Riley Duran. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Duran was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alaina Mills, who went 4-for-5 with seven RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Raylee DeLong, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Angola hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Angola's victory bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Prairie Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Angola's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Prairie Heights has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Angola, though, as they've been averaging 9.1 hits. Given Prairie Heights' sizable advantage in that area, the Hornets will need to find a way to close that gap.
Prairie Heights might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Angola when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
