Bear River has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Mountain Crest Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bear River knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Mountain Crest likes a good challenge.
Even though Bear River has not done well against Ridgeline recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Bear River walked away with a 59-52 win over Ridgeline. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 12 to 5 on the offensive boards, as Bear River did.
Bridger Barfuss continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Gehrig Marble, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Even though Mountain Crest has not done well against Green Canyon recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Mountain Crest secured a 50-46 W over Green Canyon.
Bear River's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. As for Mountain Crest, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
Bear River didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Mountain Crest in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 61-55 victory. Will Bear River repeat their success, or does Mountain Crest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
