Logan is a perfect 10-0 against Elida since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Longhorns will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 3:00 p.m. Logan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.
Logan barely beat Grady the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Longhorns blew past the Bronchos 12-2 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Kale Griffiths made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Griffiths was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Aydin Kotara and Devin Kotara did most of the damage at the plate: Aydin went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs, while Devin got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Aydin is becoming a predictor of Logan's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 9-1 (and 1-6 when he doesn't). Diego Sanchez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Logan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Elida lost 13-6 to Gateway Christian on Thursday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Coda Cathey was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Elida's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Logan, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Logan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .494. However, it's not like Elida struggles in that department as they've averaged .443. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Logan took their win against Elida when the teams last played back in May of 2022 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Do the Longhorns have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
