Canyon del Oro got a massive performance out of Briseis Ramirez, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Ramirez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Potter, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Canyon del Oro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in ten consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Tucson High Magnet School sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-14 win over Liberty on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Badgers.
Tucson High Magnet School let Adreana Hernandez and Claudeona Lesley run wild. Hernandez went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI, while Lesley scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. Aliyah Julio also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Tucson High Magnet School pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Canyon del Oro, their record is now 9-0.
