Baseball Recap: Elizabeth Extends Winning Streak to Three

Elizabeth entered their tilt with Dayton on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Bulldogs. This was payback for the Minutemen, who suffered a 7-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Eliezer Cepeda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

At the plate, Elizabeth saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Manny Nunez, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Derek Escobar also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Elizabeth's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Dayton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Elizabeth is set to square off against their familiar foe Oratory Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Dayton will take on rival Brearley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
