They were outmatched by Rockwell Christian School on the road and fell 47-12. Matthews Christian Academy has struggled against Rockwell Christian School recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Kylie Smith, who scored 21 points for Rockwell Christian School. Alayna Isbanioly was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Matthews Christian Academy's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.7 points per game. As for Rockwell Christian School, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Matthews Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Calvary Christian at 5:15 p.m. on January 12, 2024. As for Rockwell Christian School, they will head out on the road to face off against Fayetteville Street Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fayetteville Street Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
