Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Wesson). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bogue Chitto Bobcats  an   18-0 shutout  on Friday. With that  win, the Cobras brought their scoring average up to 7.8  runs per game.
 Maddie Sanders made a splash no matter where she played. She  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk any time she's  pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news, Wesson got a  massive  performance out of  Preslee Newman, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Newman also put up two  doubles, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Kenslie Carter, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.
 Wesson  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .677. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
The  victory made it two in a row for Wesson and  bumps their season record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bogue Chitto, they now  have a losing record of 4-5.
 Looking ahead, Wesson will square off against West Lincoln at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Bogue Chitto,  a feisty cat fight will be fought as  the Bobcats  face off against  the Panthers at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
