Softball Recap: Reseda Wins Going Away Against Monroe

Reseda made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Monroe, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Regents blew past the Vikings 17-10 on Wednesday. Considering the Regents have won five games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Reseda let Fuentes Thereze and Angelina Reyes run wild. Thereze went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Reyes scored four runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-5. Isabel Lopez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Reseda kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Reseda and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.5 runs over those games. As for Monroe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Reseda is set to take on their familiar foe Van Nuys at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Monroe will face off against rival Grant at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
