Shakamak hasn't had much luck against Bloomington North recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Lakers will host the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Friday, Shakamak didn't have quite enough to beat Cloverdale and fell 8-7.

Madelyn Kennett was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Matt Hill made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Jamison Ewers was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bloomington North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 6-3 to New Albany.
Like Shakamak, Bloomington North also got a great game from a two-way player: Kendyl Feutz. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Feutz gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Chelsea Helton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Shakamak's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Bloomington North, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
