The Fulton Science Academy Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Dominion Christian, falling 70-28. Fulton Science Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-15.
Emory Maiyer was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine steals for Dominion Christian. Maiyer has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Fulton Science Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Dominion Christian, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-8.
Fulton Science Academy will head out on the road to square off against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Dominion Christian's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while the Mustangs have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
