The Rise University Prep Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 69-54 to Drew. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Rise University Prep of the 72-46 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the loss, Rise University Prep still got an impressive performance from Marcus Cage, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Tyrone Hillman III, who scored ten points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Drew to victory, but perhaps none more so than Teo Kimball-Directo, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Kimball-Directo is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 19 games he's played. Kian Chan was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven assists.
Rise University Prep's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Drew, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Rise University Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on February 8th. As for Drew, they will head out on the road to square off against the Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. San Francisco Waldorf is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.
