It was a good run, but the Mountain House Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 68-47 walloping at the hands of Menlo-Atherton.
Mountain House's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shamar Jones, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds. The game was Jones' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Ej Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 9 rebounds.
Mountain House's defeat dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Menlo-Atherton, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Mountain House's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tracy at 4:00 p.m. on December 8th. Tracy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 638th, while Mountain House is ranked 50th). As for Menlo-Atherton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Tokay at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Tokay's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
