The Mountain Vista Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Fossil Ridge SaberCats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Mountain Vista and Arapahoe meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1.

Mountain Vista got a good showing from Advait Jadhav, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Jadhav has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Mountain Vista saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Kennedy, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Kennedy's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Fossil Ridge made easy work of Loveland on Wednesday and carried off a 16-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the SaberCats, who have now won four matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Fossil Ridge also got a great performance from Vedant Sharma as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Mason Griffin was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March of 2024. Tyler Kephart was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Fossil Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loveland only posted an OBP of .355.
The win made it two in a row for Fossil Ridge and bumps their season record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Mountain Vista, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mountain Vista has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Fossil Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
