The Trimble Tech Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Grapevine, falling 71-8. Trimble Tech has not had much luck with Grapevine recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Grapevine got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Juliun Contreras out in front who rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Contreras was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards. Demontrez Dunn also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Trimble Tech's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-9. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Grapevine, Arlington Heights, and Colleyville Heritage. As for Grapevine, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.
Trimble Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Grapevine will square off against Emerson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Emerson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
