The Indian Springs COYOTES and the Sultana Sultans will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at. Hopefully Indian Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday.
After a string of three wins, Indian Springs' good fortune finally ran out. The contest between Indian Springs and Yucaipa wasn't particularly close, with Indian Springs falling 60-42. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Indian Springs in their matchups with Yucaipa: they've now lost four in a row.
Indian Springs' defeat came about despite a quality game from A'dorian Cherry, who scored 23 points. The game was Cherry's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Jordan Culberson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 58 points the game before, Sultana were a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They were beaten by San Dimas 63-21. Sultana was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-10.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Alec Rodriguez, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Sultana struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Indian Springs has fallen quite a ways from their 21-10 record last season and are now at 5-11. As for Sultana, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Indian Springs have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 27.8 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Sultana, though, as they've been averaging only 25.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
