The Powhatan Indians lost against the Mechanicsville Mustangs back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Powhatan had to suffer through a rough 68-41 loss at the hands of Mechanicsville. Powhatan has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mechanicsville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kate Carlton, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kedelin Santos, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals.
Powhatan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mechanicsville, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Powhatan will take on Cosby at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mechanicsville, they will play host again and welcome King William, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
