Basketball Recap: Wren Piles Up the Points Against Emerald

There's no place like home for Wren, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 68-26 victory over the Emerald Vikings. The Hurricanes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Wren got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hailey Burgess out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ava O'Shields, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 boards.

Despite the defeat, Emerald had strong showings from Savannah Dover, who posted six points, and Le'Asia Morgan, who scored eight points and ten rebounds.

Wren is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Emerald, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Wren will be playing at home against Fountain Inn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fountain Inn will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Wren surely won't give up without a fight. As for Emerald, they will venture away from home to take on Westside at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westside's defense has only allowed 28.6 points per game this season, so Emerald's offense will have their work cut out for them.
