The Brewbaker Tech Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Lipscomb Academy 57-53. Brewbaker Tech lost against Lipscomb Academy in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 41-39 score last time.
Brewbaker Tech's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Erin Martin, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks, and Kennedi Mcghee who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Mcghee scored a full 30.2% of Brewbaker Tech's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaymarria Bandy, who scored four points.
Brewbaker Tech has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Lipscomb Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Brewbaker Tech will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Demopolis at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Lipscomb Academy and Pickens will face off at 1:00 p.m. on December 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pickens is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
