The Kit Carson Wildcats were the 41-26 winner over the Calhan Bulldogs when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Kit Carson fell to Calhan 48-42.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josiah Irwin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Keaton Marriott, who scored 5 points along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds.
Kit Carson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Calhan, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Kit Carson will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eads at 4:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Calhan, they will head out on the road to face off against Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Center will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Calhan is ranked 99th).
