Maclay and Rickards are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Marauders will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Maclay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Maclay came out on top against North Florida Christian on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Marauders took their contest against the Eagles 9-5. The victory continues a trend for the Marauders in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Ben Wagnon was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Maclay's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Poppell, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.
Maclay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Rickards hadn't done well against Wakulla Christian School recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Raiders walked away with a 14-10 win over the Saints.
Jonathan McGlockton was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. McGlockton was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Rickards got a massive performance out of Carlos Rolle, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Rolle has posted since back in February of 2025. Another player making a difference was Jarquez Jackson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
The victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 2-9. As for Maclay, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Maclay has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .462. However, it's not like Rickards struggles in that department as they've averaged .443. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Maclay got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 against Rickards by a conclusive 11-5 score. Will the Marauders repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
