Linden-McKinley has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Friday. They will face off against the Whetstone Braves at 6:00 p.m. Whetstone took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Linden-McKinley, who comes in off a win.
Even though Linden-McKinley has not done well against Beechcroft recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Linden-McKinley came out on top against Beechcroft by a score of 36-24.
Linden-McKinley found their leader in underclassman Christiana Towns, who scored 22 points. The match was Towns' third in a row with at least ten points. Irayshiana Givens was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Meanwhile, Whetstone came up short against Franklin Heights on Wednesday and fell 39-32. Whetstone has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fairfield Christian Academy's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Linden-McKinley's loss dropped theirs to 1-1.
Linden-McKinley was dealt a bruising 54-26 loss at the hands of Whetstone in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Linden-McKinley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
