The ALA - Queen Creek Patriots will head out to face off against the Estrella Foothills Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. ALA - Queen Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
ALA - Queen Creek came out on top against Crismon on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Patriots took their game against the Rattlers 10-5. ALA - Queen Creek's win was all the more impressive since the Rattlers were averaging only 3.48 runs allowed on the season.
Brasser Crumpton and Juan Pablo Altamirano did most of the damage at the plate: Crumpton fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3, while Altamirano went 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those two home runs gave Crumpton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Seth Nielson, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: ALA - Queen Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Estrella Foothills came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted since April 27, 2024.
Estrella Foothills' win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alec Schaeffer, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Estrella Foothills' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for ALA - Queen Creek, their record now sits at 21-3.
Both ALA - Queen Creek and Estrella Foothills just can't seem to miss. The Patriots have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Estrella Foothills struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
ALA - Queen Creek couldn't quite get it done against Estrella Foothills in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-6. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
