The Camp Point Central Panthers will challenge the Seymour Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Camp Point Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Camp Point Central made easy work of Augusta Southeastern and carried off a 13-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Suns: they've now won three in a row.

Collin Likes and Garrett Neisen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Likes tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. Meanwhile, Neisen struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At bat, Likes got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one double, while Neisen went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Neisen has hit this season.
In other batting news, Camp Point Central let Kolin Bockhold and Nate Peters run wild. Bockhold went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Peters went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Bockhold has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Caleb Petersen, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Camp Point Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Seymour was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Quincy Notre Dame, falling 10-2.
Seymour saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lane Barker, who went 3-for-4 with one run.
Camp Point Central's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Seymour, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
Camp Point Central beat Seymour 4-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
