The Triton Central Tigers won the last time they faced the Lawrenceburg Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Triton Central walked away with a 54-47 win over Lawrenceburg. The win made it back-to-back wins for Triton Central.
Triton Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maryrose Felling, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Felling has scored at least a third of Triton Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Harris, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Lawrenceburg's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubree Labazzo, who scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Natalie Knigga, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Triton Central's win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Lawrenceburg, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-9.
Triton Central will head out on the road to challenge Danville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Danville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Tuesday. Lawrenceburg won't have much time to rest: their next game is against South Dearborn at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th. South Dearborn has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 16.
