Softball Recap: Bonners Ferry Wins Going Away Against Kellogg

Bonners Ferry won the last time they faced Kellogg and things went their way on Thursday too. The Badgers put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 17-7 win. The Badgers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.

Ryelle Short was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, six stolen bases, and four runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sadie Frederickson, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with seven stolen bases and three runs.

Bonners Ferry hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Bonners Ferry now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Kellogg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonners Ferry will venture away from home to challenge Potlatch at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Loggers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Badgers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Kellogg, they will head out on the road to square off against Timberlake at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
