AAA District 11 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Centennial and Cane Ridge played the most hotly contested game in AAA District 11 this week, with Centennial eventually emerging with a 34-31 victory.
The Cougars led the league in scoring this week after putting up 34 points on the Ravens.
Franklin's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Joe Critchlow threw for 158 and one touchdown and Tony Flemister had 84 yards receiving. On the ground Colton Morrison chipped in 53 yards. Max Taylor helped Franklin's passing attack out by catching one ball for 68 yards.
Graham Warren made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Rebels fell to Lawrence County. The 6-foot-1 senior grabbed 2.0 sacks.
6-foot-3 quarterback Critchlow of Franklin is the league leader in passing yards this season with 908. He has also thrown eight touchdowns. On the ground, Brentwood's Ben Green has rushed for 869 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Andy Schumpert. The Brentwood star has 12 catches for 343 yards.
A big matchup in AAA District 11 this week will be when Hillsboro takes on the Bruins. The Burros are in third place, while Brentwood is in first place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Hillsboro takes on Mark Pemberton's team. Craig Clayton's team has allowed 99 points this season, while the Bruins have given up 58.
The longest pass in the league this week came courtesy of Donnie Webb's team's Critchlow. The Rebels fell to the Wildcats when he connected with Taylor on a 68-yard throw and catch.
