 Meanwhile, Carbondale was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They fell just short of Marion by a score of  3-1.
  Bryce McKinnies made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-2.
 Murphysboro's win bumped their record up to 12-14-1. As for Carbondale, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
 The pitchers for both teams better look sharp  on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Murphysboro has been swiping bases left and right this season,  having  averaged 3.1  stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Carbondale struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 3. The only question left is which team can snag more.
 Murphysboro took their  victory against Carbondale  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023 by a conclusive  10-0. Will Murphysboro repeat their success,  or does  Carbondale have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
