Softball Recap: Chaminade Julienne Catholic Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Chaminade Julienne Catholic came out on top against Archbishop Alter on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive 15-run fourth inning. The Eagles blew past the Knights 16-2. Considering the Eagles have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Aubrey Kolton made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Chaminade Julienne Catholic got a massive performance out of Em Schwartz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Mariem Mezni, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Chaminade Julienne Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .595. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Chaminade Julienne Catholic's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Archbishop Alter, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
