The Buena Colts will challenge the Canyon del Oro Dorados at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Buena has given up an average of 31.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Friday, Buena didn't have too much trouble with Casa Grande as they won 49-33. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Michael Lujan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 251 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Buena is undefeated when Lujan posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Layton, who threw for 129 yards and one TD while completing 81.8% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Buena was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 401 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Meanwhile, Canyon del Oro played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Desert View and fell 41-7. The Dorados were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.
Buena's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Canyon del Oro, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Buena has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 378.1 total yards per game. It's a different story for Canyon del Oro, though, as they've been averaging only 201 total yards. Will Buena be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Dorados flip the script?
Buena was dealt a bruising 61-20 defeat at the hands of Canyon del Oro when the teams last played back in September of 2015. Thankfully for the Colts, Garrett Woodlock (who picked up 264 receiving yards and three scores) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
