On Wednesday, Bonners Ferry got the win against Priest River by a conclusive 17-8. The Badgers haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Jennifer Petersen made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Bonners Ferry let Hailey Dickson and Jaydin Falck run wild. Dickson went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Falck went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Falck has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Randi Hibbard, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Bonners Ferry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Timberlake made easy work of Orofino on Wednesday and carried off a 12-1 win.
Shae Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Jones was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Marissa Needs was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Sadie Green was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Bonners Ferry's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Timberlake, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
Bonners Ferry's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's match. The Badgers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 12.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Timberlake, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Bonners Ferry continue to outrun the ball?
