Madison County has gone a perfect 9-0 against Jefferson County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cowboys will face off against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Madison County took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over Rickards. Considering the Cowboys have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Aiden Herring looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Madison County: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 9-10 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Micah Newman and Alden Richie did most of the damage at the plate: Newman scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Richie got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one triple. Madison County is undefeated when Richie posts two or more runs, but 9-11 otherwise. Brady Thomas was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
Madison County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Jefferson County rose to the challenge on Monday. Everything went their way against the Bobcats as they made off with a 14-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Ja'Lon Crumity made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Crumity was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Marcos Vargas was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Levi Carrol, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Jefferson County's victory bumped their record up to 7-18. As for Madison County, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Everything went Madison County's way against Jefferson County in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Madison County made off with a 21-0 win. Will the Cowboys repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
