They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (16-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 16-6.
Hamlin got a massive performance out of Sayonee Patel, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaya Montoya, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Hamlin's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-10. As for Baird, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3.
