The Snake River Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Sugar-Salem Diggers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Snake River is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Snake River made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Preston, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Snake River was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Preston on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Coy Fisher and Trayton David did most of the damage at the plate: Fisher went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while David scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Jackson Jorgensen also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Snake River hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Preston struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, Sugar-Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Burley. That's two games in a row now that the Diggers have lost by just one run.

Sugar-Salem saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Chappell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Sugar-Salem now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Snake River, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Snake River has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Sugar-Salem struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Snake River suffered a grim 23-3 defeat to Sugar-Salem in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Snake River avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
