The Lennard Longhorns scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They really took it to Leto for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-19 win on the road. The team's offensive explosion also rewarded Lennard with their most commanding win of the season.
Lizbeth Rivera and Sanaai Taylor certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Rivera scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Taylor scored five points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 63.2% of Leto's points, marking the 19th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Lennard's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Leto, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
Lennard is on the road again on Monday and plays Armwood on February 5th. Lennard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 436th, while Armwood is ranked 161st). As for Leto, they will take on Countryside at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Leto focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday.
