Football Recap: Pinecrest Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Pinecrest unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 58-27 loss at the hands of the Richmond Senior Raiders. If the Patriots were looking for revenge after losing 36-7 to the Raiders when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Pinecrest still got an impressive performance from Chris Najm, who rushed for 116 yards and two TDs. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 65 yards. Najee Gillis was another key player, throwing for 172 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Pinecrest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Rollins Rodriguez.

Pinecrest's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Richmond Senior, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

As of now, neither Pinecrest nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
