The Mount Juliet Christian Academy Saints scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 91-50 victory over Dayspring Academy on the road. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
When it comes to explaining why Dayspring Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is John-Michael Martin. Despite the final result, he dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists. Martin is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least four every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Jackson, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Mount Juliet Christian Academy's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-14. As for Dayspring Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Juliet Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Goodpasture Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th. Goodpasture Christian is coming into the matchup with 12 straight victories at home, so Mount Juliet Christian Academy is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Dayspring Academy, they will head out on the road to take on United Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dayspring Academy is facing United Christian Academy at the right time seeing as United Christian Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
