The Kimball Jaguars will face off against the Tracy Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kimball is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Kimball had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Lodi put an end to it on Wednesday. The Jaguars came up short against the Flames, falling 11-1. The Jaguars' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Kimball saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karaliya DePerio, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Tracy entered their tilt with West on Thursday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They put the hurt on the Wolfpack with a sharp 14-3 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Elisa Galli was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Emalee Cargill was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Reanna Zuniga, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Tracy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in six consecutive contests.
Tracy's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Kimball, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kimball has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Tracy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Kimball suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Tracy when the teams last played on April 3rd. Can the Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
