The El Paso Tigers fell victim to the Canutillo Eagles''s stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Eagles, falling 62-0. El Paso just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Canutillo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jeremiah Knox, who threw for 92 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Rene Huerta, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
El Paso's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.3 points per game. As for Canutillo, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
El Paso does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Canutillo will be playing at home against Plainview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
