Prospect and Christopher are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Panthers will face off against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prospect has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight defeats, while Christopher will come in with four straight wins.
It was a proper cat-fight when Prospect took on Lincoln on Thursday. The Panthers came up short against the Lions, falling 10-0.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Christopher). Everything went their way against Del Mar on Thursday as they made off with a 20-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 12 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Katelyn Vega looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Christopher got a massive performance out of Audrina Cabanlit, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Farrow, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Christopher hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.
Prospect's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Christopher, their record is now 15-7.
Prospect came out on top in a nail-biter against Christopher in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
