Make it eight blowout wins for the Valor Christian Eagles this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Chatfield 80-38 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Valor Christian who now have seven in a row.
Valor Christian was led to victory by Quinn Vansickle and Peyton Jones. Vansickle scored 17 points along with seven assists and five rebounds, while Jones scored 23 points along with four steals. Jones hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Rylie Beers, who scored nine points along with six assists.
Valor Christian's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points per game. As for Chatfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.
Valor Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Doherty will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Eagles are ranked fourth). As for Chatfield, they will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
