Central Pointe Christian Academy lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on last Thursday was a bit more commanding. They were the victim of a rough 63-38 loss at the hands of Jordan Christian Prep Sunshine. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Central Pointe Christian Academy came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Jordan Christian Prep Sunshine is ranked 392nd).
Meanwhile, even though Varsity Opponent scored an imposing 69 points on Saturday, Balboa School still came out on top. Balboa School took their game against Varsity Opponent 79-69. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Balboa School.
Balboa School relied on the efforts of Travis Musonda, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds, and Jamaal Phatty, who scored 20 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Musonda scored 15 or more points. Kendall Connor was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Central Pointe Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Balboa School, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.
Central Pointe Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Balboa School in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 61-56 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Pointe Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
