The Lake Clifton Lakers lost against the Poly Engineers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Lake Clifton took a serious blow against Poly, falling 56-13. Lake Clifton has struggled against Poly recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Brianna Pope, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Smothers, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Lake Clifton now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Poly, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Clifton will take on Dunbar at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Poly, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Edmondson-Westside at 3:45 p.m. Edmondson-Westside is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
