There's no place like home for the Edisto Cougars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They skirted past Woodland 36-34. For Edisto, this counts as revenge for the 43-29 loss Woodland walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Edisto found their leader in underclassman Ashante Johnson, who scored 14 points. De'myah Simmons was another key contributor, scoring six points.
When it comes to explaining why Woodland lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Lyniah Kitt. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points.
Edisto pushed their record up to 6-9 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Woodland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Hampton County the next time they take the court. Woodland will head out to face Hampton County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Edisto will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
