The Trenton Tigers won the last time they faced the Dixie County Bears, and things went their way on Friday too. Trenton blew past Dixie County 56-22 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Trenton.
Leading Trenton to victory were Audrey Hubbard and Nyima Gillyard. Hubbard scored 11 points along with 6 steals, while Gillyard scored 15 points along with 5 steals. The matchup was Gillyard's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayley Sloan, who scored 10 points.
Trenton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Dixie County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trenton will take on Hilliard at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hilliard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Trenton is ranked 117th). As for Dixie County, they will be playing at home against Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lafayette focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 on Friday.
