The Rossville Hornets are taking a road trip to face off against the Twin Lakes Indians at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Rossville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Rossville proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Carroll, sneaking past 5-4. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 16, 2022, but that streak is no more.

| 04/09/25 vs Western | 4 |
Rossville got a great performance from AJ Kelley as he struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Kelley a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andrew Woolen, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
Meanwhile, Twin Lakes never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Benton Central with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Indians have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Mason Brummett was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Twin Lakes: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Wagner, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Twin Lakes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Rossville's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Twin Lakes, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Rossville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. However, it's not like Twin Lakes struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rossville came up short against Twin Lakes in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 8-4. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
