Deerfield Beach's 24-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a hard 56-41 fall against Blanche Ely on Friday. While losing is never fun, Deerfield Beach can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 485th, while Blanche Ely is ranked 134th).
Meanwhile, Treasure Coast pushed their score all the way to 79 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 86-79 hit to the loss column at the hands of Archbishop McCarthy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (58), Treasure Coast still had to take the loss.
Deerfield Beach's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-8. As for Treasure Coast, their loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-5.
