Basketball Game Preview: Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes vs. Beaufort Eagles

Ashley Ridge is 6-0 against Beaufort since November of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes will venture away from home to challenge the Beaufort Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Ashley Ridge sitting on 13 straight victories and Beaufort on six.

Ashley Ridge picked up another tournament win on Monday. They secured a 56-51 W over Georgetown. Given the Swamp Foxes' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked eighth in South Carolina, while the Eagles are ranked 53rd in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Skyla Tuthill continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 17 points and six rebounds. Her afternoon made it 14 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Katie Johnson, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, everything went Beaufort's way against Whale Branch last Friday as Beaufort made off with a 39-17 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.

Beaufort's win came from a few key players Ashley Ridge will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Davariyah Smith, who earned 11 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaria Coaxum, who put up eight points.

Beaufort's record is now 7-5. As for Ashley Ridge, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Everything came up roses for Ashley Ridge against Beaufort in their previous matchup on December 2nd, as the squad secured an 87-39 win. In that game, Ashley Ridge amassed a halftime lead of 42-20, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
