The Smyrna Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Lebanon at home and fell 64-34. Smyrna was down 50-27 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaleil Lyons, who scored five points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Zarin Butler, who scored five points.
Smyrna has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 14 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Lebanon, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-13.
Smyrna will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. As for Lebanon, they will head out on the road to square off against the Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cookeville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Blue Devils in Tennessee (the Cavaliers are ranked 11th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 163rd).
