With a playoff game on the line, the Hawthorne Hornets rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top against the Cowboys by a score of 22-13. Hawthorne's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Keenon Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 138 yards. Johnson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games.
When it comes to explaining why Madison County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Varian Terry. Despite the final result, he rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Terry really tore up the turf during one magnificent 99-yard run.
Hawthorne's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Madison County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.
