Paetow is a perfect 4-0 against Morton Ranch since February of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Paetow Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Morton Ranch Mavericks at 6:15 p.m. Paetow is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Paetow barely beat Cypress Falls the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Paetow's way against Cypress Falls on Thursday as Paetow made off with an 11-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.
ABIGAIL MARTINAK made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). MARTINAK was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, TESSA DELAFOSSE was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was KYRA PENNYWELL, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Paetow always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Morton Ranch was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They lost 19-1 to Jordan. The Mavericks have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The victory got Paetow back to even at 5-5. As for Morton Ranch, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
Morton Ranch's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Paetow hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. It's a different story for Morton Ranch, though, as they've only averaged .256. Will they be able to contain Paetow's hitters?
Paetow took their win against Morton Ranch in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0. Does Paetow have another victory up their sleeve, or will Morton Ranch turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
